St. Anthony Village High School Students’ Artwork Recognized at Visual Arts Competition

St. Anthony-New Brighton School District congratulates St. Anthony Village High School students whose artwork earned awards at the Section 4A Minnesota State High School League Visual Arts Competition at the Perpich Center for the Arts on April 17.

The artwork of Alexis Jauss, mixed media painting; Linda Ingaldson, encaustic and acrylic painting; and Misha Dojcinovicova, oil pastel drawing, received Achievement awards. Excellence awards were earned by Isabella Cameron, ceramic sculpture; Emily Kocon, collagraph printmaking and graphite drawing; Jessica Fjerstad, digital photography; Leah Tremmel, digital photography; Gracia Obeid, digital photography; Emily Rognrud, ceramic coil pot; Izzy Gaetz, graphite drawing; and Ashley Dahl, figurative sculpture. The artwork of Justice Sayers, digital photography; Dale Mapes, ceramic sculpture; Kaitlyn Hough, ceramic sculpture; Allie Gams, altered book; and Angela Bandoli, charcoal drawing, received Superior Gold Medal awards.

Angela Bandoli, charcoal drawing, and Emily Kocon, collagraph print, were winners of the Juror’s Choice “Spotlight on The Arts” award. The artwork of Bandoli and Kocon will be featured in the 2010 Exhibition from May 12-15 at the College of Visual Arts Gallery, 173 Western Avenue North, St. Paul. The 2010 Exhibition will highlight Juror's Choice "Spotlight on the Arts" winners from the Minnesota State High School League Visual Arts section competitions.
