Newsweek Selects St. Anthony Village High School as One of America’s Top High Schools
For the fourth consecutive year, St. Anthony Village High School has been selected by Newsweek as one of America’s top high schools and, on the 2009 list, was rated 4th in Minnesota. St. Anthony Village High School first appeared on the list of America’s top high schools in 2006 and ranked 14th in Minnesota. Since its initial debut in 2006, St. Anthony Village High School has improved its standing and, on the 2007 and 2008 list, was rated 5th in Minnesota. Newsweek uses a specific ratio to identify America’s top high schools—the total number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or Cambridge tests given at a school in May is divided by the number of seniors graduating in May or June. All public schools that achieve a ratio of at least 1.000 are identified as one of America’s top high schools. This year, less than 6 percent, or 1500, of the approximately 27,000 U.S. public high schools were placed on the Newsweek list.
