2012 Best High Schools St. Anthony Village High School is proud to announce a top ten ranking within the state of Minnesota, as reported in 2012 U.S. News and World Best High Schools.  The report, released just this past week, states that the school has been awarded one of the 42 silver medals within the state of Minnesota, giving SAVHS a 9th place ranking in the state and a ranking of #563 in the nation.   There are 786 high schools in the State of Minnesota and over 22,000 national public high schools.  As stated in the article, Minnesota’s high school graduation rate is very high with many schools offering Advanced Placement options for students to earn college level credits while still in high school.  Please see the article in its entirety at http://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/minnesota

Congratulations to Felicia Hamann who has earned the Minnesota Department of Education Scholar of Distinction Award in the area of Leadership.  She, and other students who have been awarded the 2012 Scholars of Distinction and Meritorious Performance awards, will be recognized on Saturday, May 19, at 1:30 p.m. at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley.  Felicia is an 11th grader at the St. Anthony Village High School.
 


Good luck to the 228 St. Anthony Village High School Students who are taking 396 Advanced Placement Tests in early May!!!  This is the largest number of students taking a record number of tests in high school history.

Felicia Hamann
Hamann Secures 1st Place at Regional Science Fair, Advances to State and National Competitions
Congratulations to St. Anthony Village High School junior Felicia Hamann, who participated in the 74th annual Twin Cities Regional Science Fair on February 24-25, 2012.  Hamann took 1st place, won the Science Fair Grand Award from Medtronic, 1st place from the US Army, Domeier Memorial Award, and the Stockholm Junior Water Prize.  Hamann participated in the State competition on March 18th and also qualified for the International Sustainable World Energy Engineering Environment Project (ISWEEEP) competition on May 2nd in Houston, Texas.

Anthony Brama

Congratulations to St. Anthony Village High School senior Anthony Brama!
On February 6th, 2012, during a boys basketball game against St. Agnes, Anthony Brama scored his 1000th point.  Brama is the eighth male in the history of St. Anthony Village High School to be inducted into the 1000th Point Club. 

 

 



Congratulations to the SAVHS students who have achieved the honor roll for the 1st semester.  To earn this honor, students must have a grade point average of 3.668 for the A honor roll and 3.0 for the B honor roll.

Join us in celebrating 50 years of St. Anthony Village High School!
Throughout the 2011-2012 school year we will be celebrating the SAVHS 50th anniversary. The SAVHS Alumni Association is coordinating a series of events that began at the Homecoming game on September 30th and will end with a weekend of activities and an all-class reunion on the weekend of October 5-7, 2012.
